Description of the programme
Varied and interdisciplinary: The part-time Bachelor's degree programme in Social Work (B.A.) at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences teaches you the diverse methods and techniques of social work in varied learning units. You will learn to categorise social work methods and theories in a socio-political context and apply them in a needs-oriented manner. All content of the programme is based on the recommendations of the Federal Association of Social Work and the German Society for Social Work. With the Bachelor's degree in Social Work (B.Sc.), you also acquire the title of "State-recognised social worker" and "State-recognised social pedagogue".
Scientific foundations, theories, procedures and methods of social work as well as relevant expertise from related disciplines - this is what you will learn on the Bachelor's degree programme in Social Work (B.A.). You will learn to recognise and analyse social problems and solve them together with those affected. You will deepen your knowledge of the areas of social work. These include, for example, child and youth welfare, social work with elderly or disabled people and with people suffering from mental illness. We place just as much emphasis on the development of your personality and the ability to critically analyse.

Accreditations & awards
All study programmes at the Hochschule Fresenius are accredited before they start for the first time and then regularly checked for conformity with the regulations. This ensures that they meet the quality standards of the Accreditation Council Foundation. The accreditation system in Germany provides for higher education institutions to have either individual study programmes (so-called programme accreditation) or the internal quality assurance system of the higher education institution (so-called system accreditation) accredited. The FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) accreditation of the study programmes of the Hochschule Fresenius guarantees the equivalence of corresponding study and examination achievements as well as degrees and enables student mobility within the scope of German law and the Lisbon Convention.
