Description of the programme
The dual Bachelor's programme in Tourism Management (B.A.) has a modular structure and extends over 7 semesters. In this study programme, tourism-specific knowledge is taught from the first semester in addition to legal and business basics. In addition, elective modules are offered with which students can specialise in certain subject areas. These can be chosen according to interest and range from "Cruise Management" and "Sports Tourism" to "Hotel Management" or "Tourism Consulting".
Accreditations & awards
The IST Hochschule für Management is officially accredited as a state-recognised university by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. This guarantees the equivalence of the degrees with degrees from state universities.
The Bachelor's, Master's, and MBA programmes are accredited by the International Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (FIBAA). This means that you achieve an international and state-recognised degree. With the award of credit points according to the European Credit and Accumulation Transfer System (ECTS), your academic achievements are internationally comparable and recognised.
The IST University of Management has been institutionally accredited for five years after a thorough review by the German Science Council. We have thus received further state recognition, which underpins our claim to quality.
In order to be admitted to this dual Bachelor's degree programme, students need the contractual approval of a tourism-specific training company in advance. The IST University of Applied Sciences for Management provides advice on the selection of a suitable practical partner. In addition, they need to have the general university entrance qualification (Abitur), university of applied sciences entrance qualification or an equivalent school-leaving qualification.
