Arts

This field of study deals with the implementation and effect of Arts. It can be divided into several areas. In the Liberal Arts, one deals with Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, or Photography, whereas in the Applied Arts the Forging of gold and silver as well as ceramics, Textile Art, and Stage Design play an important role. There is some overlap with Graphic Design, Media Art, Textile Design, and Product Design. Art History or Art Studies deals with the historical development of the fine arts. This includes works of Painting, Ornamentation, Graphics, Architecture, Arts and Crafts, and works of the New Media. The programmes go deeper into the interpretation, meaning, and chronological classification of works of art. In Art Education the focus is on the communication of arts and the aesthetic phenomena of life in society. The result is a combination of Art Studies and practical training in Design.
