Register on Compounder

Your first step is to create a free account on Compounder. This platform is your gateway to plenty of information about studying in Germany! Simply click on the "register" button and fill in your name, email and password. If you already completed your registration or are looking to retake the admission test, you may skip to "What to Do Next" in this article.

Email verification

After registration, you'll receive an email to verify your account. This is a crucial step to ensure your account is secure and accessible. Check your inbox (and the junk folder, just in case) for the email and click on the verification link.

Accessing the University Admission Section

Once your email is verified, log into your account and head to your profile. Here, you'll find an option labeled "University admission" in the bottom left corner. Selecting this will direct you to the eligibility quiz, which is your next big step!

Completing the Eligibility Check

This quiz is designed to assess your qualifications and figure out your eligibility for university admission in Germany. Please be sure to fill in the correct information at the very first time taking the test as this result will be forwarded to the universities you apply to via Compounder!

You will need to fill out the following information:

 - IB/GIB diploma or Country of Origin: Your educational qualifications are assessed based on German standards, taking into account your country of origin. The IB/GIB diploma holds universal value.

 - School Leaving Certificate (depending on your country): The type of certificate you hold is crucial in determining your direct or subject-restricted eligibility or if you need to attend a preparatory course. 

 - Previous University Education (also depending on your country) : If you've attended a university before, this could impact your eligibility to study in Germany.

 - Additional Information: Any additional qualifications you possess or grades you achieved could enhance your eligibility, for example: percentage you passed your final exam with, successful completion of the Joint Entrance Examination or specialization of any previous degrees.

Understanding Your Eligibility Check results

Upon completing the check, you'll most likely receive one of several possible outcomes:

 - Direct General Admission: You qualify to apply directly to any German university for any course.

 - Direct Subject Restricted Admission: You are eligible for specific courses based on your qualifications.

 - Direct Admission to a Preparatory Course: You'll need to complete any course of a preparatory course to receive direct admission to a German university.

 - Subject-Restricted Admission to a Preparatory Course: Indicates you qualify to attend a specific subject in preparatory course (based on your prior education) before being eligible for admission at a German university.

 - No Qualification: You may need to take additional steps, such as studying in your home country, to qualify for studying in Germany.
