Frequently asked questions
What does Compounder do?
Compounder is the first possibility for direct online applications to all your desired universities. You can not only search for your suitable study programmes and find the appropriate university, but you can also apply directly to it with your applicant profile without losing much time and nerves on other websites. The best thing about it is that you can also apply directly to several universities or for several study programmes at the same time, without having to put together your application several times.
Will my data be treated confidentially?
Yes, they will. Data protection is one of our most important concerns. Your data belongs to you and will only be used for the purpose of your successful matriculation (enrolment). We at Compounder cannot view your data. Only the universities you apply to can view your personal data.
How can I manage my profile?
You can change your profile and upload new documents at any time. Via ‘My profile’ you can go directly to your personal overview and make any changes there.
How can I directly contact universities?
You can easily contact universities that are of interest to you via a button on the university profile. In this way, you can clarify any open questions that have not yet been answered by the university profile before you apply.
What happens after sending my application(s)?
Your application(s) will be sent via Compounder directly to the universities to which you have applied. Since only complete applications can be sent, we save you the trouble of submitting missing documents later. Afterwards, the university checks your application in its own system. At this point in the process, we have nothing more to do with it. Each university evaluates the application internally. In the meantime, you can view and track your application status on Compounder. As soon as a decision has been made on whether to accept, reject or stay on the waiting list, you will receive your answer directly on your Compounder profile.
Who can see my profile?
Your profile is also your application. As soon as you have selected one or more study programmes and universities, and your application is complete, you send your application to the universities. Neither we, the Compounder team, nor other applicants or universities will see your data during your orientation phase!
How long does it take to receive responses to my applications?
That depends on how long it takes your university to review your application. Since we automatically precheck your application and forward it directly to the university, the university has a time advantage and can therefore check and respond to your application more quickly. This will give you the time you need to reorient yourself if you have to cancel your application. Of course we will also be at your side then!
What can I expect at Compounder after my matriculation (enrolment)?
Compounder is the ideal platform for your study application. However, this does not mean that we will become superfluous after your successful matriculation. During your studies, you have the opportunity to regularly come across events at your or other universities in your area that might interest you. You can also use your Compounder profile to apply for a master's degree after your bachelor's degree.
Are there any fees when applying through Compounder?
Applicants who have graduated from schools within the European Union can enjoy our services at no cost. For students who have graduated from a school outside the EU, the first five applications are free. From the sixth application onwards, a nominal fee of €15 per application is required, which includes personalised advice and support from our experienced team. For students from Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan, the fee applies from the first application. This is to ensure timely assistance with admission letters and the visa, which are particularly challenging for applicants from these countries.
Do some universities pay more than others to be better ranked?
No, there is no such thing on Compounder. No university can buy a better ranking. The ranking that results from our university and study programme search is based purely on the keywords you enter. The results are sorted by relevancy to your search query.
