The Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Studienwerk, also known as ELES, is a renowned scholarship programme for gifted students of the Jewish community in Germany. The scholarship is aimed at high school graduates and active students who are studying at a public or state-recognised higher education institution in Germany. The scholarship initially runs for one year, while the maximum funding period is based on the regulr period of study.
Study prerequisites
Applicants are expected to have above-average school or university grades.
Students must still have at least five semesters of study ahead of them when they hand in their application.
However, scholarship holders are also selected according to their social commitment in Jewish communities, in youth work, in the social sphere, in the social environment, or in student organisations.
An additional requirement is (active) affiliation with the Jewish community.
