The IU awards four scholarships each month, each of which will waive 50% of your tuition fees. These include the following scholarships:
IU Scholarship for Women in STEM Studies
Women pursuing technical degrees will often face male-dominated industries. IU wants to encourage women to succeed in these fields and supports them with the Women in Tech Scholarship.
IU scholarship for career changers
Career changes can be very scary, but also very rewarding. The IU wants to reward the courage and determination of career changers by supporting them financially.
IU scholarship for single parents
As a single parent, it is difficult to bear the responsibility for your child's future alone. The IU would like to support single parents by providing them with financial assistance.
IU scholarship for people with disabilities
People with impairments master small and big challenges every day in order to realise their dreams. The IU would like to support and promote this commitment so that students with impairments can encourage others.
These scholarships apply to all areas of IU International University, including IU distance learning.
Study prerequisites
Depending on which of the four scholarships you apply for, you must meet the following requirements:
IU Scholarship for Women in STEM Study Programmes
You apply for one of the IU's Bachelor's or Master's degree programmes in the field of IT & Technology and submit a written letter of motivation or video in which you explain your motivation for a technical profession.
IU Scholarship for Career Changers
To receive the scholarship, you must explain your reasons for a new start and your career goals in a letter of motivation. This will help the IU to better understand why they should support you.
IU Scholarship for Single Parents
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must have sole or shared custody and submit a letter of motivation that acknowledges your personal achievements and commitment as a single parent.
IU Scholarship for people with disabilities
In order to receive the scholarship, you must prove a persistent health impairment and submit a medical certificate or a severely disabled person's ID.
How to apply for one of the IU scholarships
To apply for one of the scholarships, please send an email to stipendium@iu.org and indicate in the subject line which scholarship you are applying for. You have until the end of the month to submit your application and be considered for the current month.
If you are applying for a degree programme, you can start the scholarship application process at the same time. Note, however, that you should only start your studies after you have received confirmation of your scholarship from the IU.
Within approximately two weeks after the end of the application month, you will receive either an acceptance or rejection letter from IU.
Please note
You can apply for this scholarship directly with your Compounder profile. Just state that you are also interested in the scholarship in the last step of applying for a study programme of this university.
