Description of the programme
Get to know fashion holistically: The bilingual bachelor's programme Fashion Design is holistic and comprehensive: On the one hand, the programme is very practically-oriented. You learn about digital product development, the basics of fashion design, and cutting and manufacturing techniques. On the other hand, there is the theoretical knowledge. You also deal intensively with cultural history, fashion theory and the basics of sustainability.
Creating fashion, exploring new trends: As essential as theory is, fashion design means designing. Practical work on your own projects begins in the first semester and is an important part of the course. In our modern, well-equipped workshops, you develop new ideas, plan their implementation, and discuss your designs in close collaboration with the lecturers. You will gain further practical experience through projects, collaborations, and workshops with international fashion experts. The study plan also includes an integrated six-month internship and, if you wish, a semester abroad.
Design competence—individual and sustainable: The interlocking of theoretical and practice-oriented modules gives you the ability to successfully design and implement creative ideas. You will learn how to experience and reflect on current impulses and how to incorporate them into your designs with an awareness of your social responsibility.
