Description of the programme
To ensure that you understand from the beginning how you can apply the knowledge later, the practical orientation of the study programme is particularly important to us. That is why there are laboratory practicals in every semester that relate to the corresponding theoretical modules. In addition, you will prepare scientifically supervised practical reports that link your studies with business issues. You will experience the link between learning and practice particularly intensively in the business plan competition, which is offered on an interdisciplinary basis in the sixth semester.
The focus of your study programme is on chemical and process engineering content such as organic and inorganic chemistry, process engineering or analytics. You will expand this knowledge later in modules such as process and product development or catalysis. From the fourth semester onwards, you set your focus of study. You can choose between the areas of chemical engineering, analytics and chemistry. In chemical engineering, you can expect exciting content in chemical reaction technology, mechanical and thermal process engineering and process development. In the focus area analytics, you will learn how to monitor chemical production and ensure quality standards using modern analytical methods. Biotechnological processes, bioanalytics and databases as well as database management are the main focus here. In the focus area chemistry, you deepen your knowledge of organic chemistry, deal with the pharmacological effect of (organic) molecules on patients, with chemical material properties and with instrumental analytics.
