Description of the programme
Healthy nutrition is an important building block for a high quality of life. With this degree programme, you will become an expert in nutrition, health and food at an academic level. The content combines natural and human sciences and focuses on biochemistry, nutritional physiology, nutritional planning, nutritional therapy and dietetics. Expertise in food and social sciences rounds off the subject area. They address questions such as: What nutritional recommendations are there for whom - and why? What does the seed do on its way from the field until it is consumed as bread? And what nutrients does it contain? Topics such as sustainable food production and health policy are also addressed, such as the role of social media in nutritional communication. With this degree programme, you will learn to solve complex questions in an interdisciplinary way. You will develop concepts for appropriate nutrition for healthy and sick people, organise, support and secure the supply of food for people in different living environments and be able to take responsibility for the production and processing of food.
