Description of the programme
The Bachelor's programme in Psychology teaches you the basic contexts of scientific psychology. The most important theories, innovative masterminds from environmental psychology to business psychology. At the beginning of the study programme, there is an introduction to the history of psychology, where you learn to better classify and evaluate current concepts. At the same time, you will expand your knowledge of statistics and learn relevant methods of scientific work. In the further course of your studies, you will deal intensively with the topics of clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and diagnostics and get to know many areas of application.
The Bachelor's programme conforms to licensing requirements and thus offers an important prerequisite for further training as a psychotherapist. The teaching of the most important psychotherapeutic methods, but also their practical application, is therefore a focus of the programme.
Why enrolling in this programme?
In almost all areas of activity that require psychological training, the focus is on working with and on people. In addition to understanding theoretical concepts, practical training is therefore an important prerequisite. For this reason, subject hours are an essential part of our curriculum. As a study participant, you take part in the studies of your fellow students—and vice versa. A total of 30 subject hours must be completed and documented during the course of the study programme.
In addition, you are required to complete a compulsory internship. You can gain your first practical experience both in Germany and abroad. Depending on your focus, you can choose between a professional or a research-oriented internship.
