Description of the programme
Contents: International hotel management, event management, destination management, tourism management, sustainability, corporate communication, e-tourism.
In the bachelor's programme Tourism, Hotel and Event Management (B.A.) you will gain comprehensive knowledge in the fields of tourism, hotel and event management in six or seven semesters. You will recognise important economic correlations, learn to think and act entrepreneurially and acquire the ability to develop and work on specific topics. Other important prerequisites for a career as a tourism, hotel or event manager are intercultural competencies and language skills—which is why we offer you a broad range of language training and an integrated semester abroad.
In the first three semesters of the bachelor's programme Tourism, Hotel and Event Management (B.A.), you will acquire the basics. With modules such as business administration, accounting and financial analyses, you will learn the methods of corporate management. You will deal intensively with the topics of tourism, hotel and event management such as international tourism, travel management and event conception. Modules such as Business Communication, Project Management and Presentation Techniques and Statistical Methods expand your practical skills. You also deal with legal and social issues.
Why enrolling in this programme?
Do you want to enter the tourism industry? In the fourth and fifth semesters, you can specialise in two areas. You will take the specialisation in tourism management in New York, where you will get to know the industry and its trend topics in depth. In the specialisation in hotel and event management, you will deal intensively with international hotel management and food and beverage management. Alternatively, you can study interdisciplinarily and choose the second focus from our range of joint study programmes.
