Description of the programme
After this degree, graduates are able to recognise economic and hotel-specific contexts, take on central business activities and develop social, communicative and professional skills. The integration into the company also increases the chances of switching directly to a permanent employment relationship after graduation.
In addition to legal and business administration basics, hotel-specific knowledge, such as gastronomy and quality management, is taught in this degree programme from the very first semester. In addition, elective modules are offered with which students can specialise in certain subject areas. These can be chosen according to interest and range from hotel marketing to tourism management and event management to business Spanish or French.
Accreditations & awards
The IST Hochschule für Management is officially accredited as a state-recognised university by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. This guarantees the equivalence of the degrees with degrees from state universities.
The Bachelor's, Master's, and MBA programmes are accredited by the International Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (FIBAA). This means that you achieve an international and state-recognised degree. With the award of credit points according to the European Credit and Accumulation Transfer System (ECTS), your academic achievements are internationally comparable and recognised.
The IST University of Management has been institutionally accredited for five years after a thorough review by the German Science Council. We have thus received further state recognition, which underpins our claim to quality.
For this dual study programme, it is a prerequisite that an in-company training relationship is entered into with a hotel-specific training company. In addition, the general (technical) university entrance qualification or an equivalent school leaving certificate must have been obtained. The dual Bachelor's programme "Hotel Management" can also be completed without a high school diploma, but at least 2 years of vocational training plus 3 years of work experience or a master craftsman's certificate or advanced training must be proven.
