Description of the programme
More and more clinical facilities and therapeutic centers rely on creative therapeutic/artistic methods with a scientific foundation. The course focuses on practical training of your therapeutic and musical skills. The theoretical basis is provided by medicine, psychology, neuroscience, and musicology content.
You will learn how to use music with people of different ages to promote their health. You will learn the basics of improvisation, song accompaniment, and therapeutic conversation before your first internship. Completing your second internship will teach you how to treat people with specific medical conditions.

Theoretical foundations: Psychology, medicine, neuroscience, therapeutic sciences, musicology
1) Therapy:
Music therapy approaches such as humanistic, depth psychology or behavioral music therapy
- Active music therapy methods such as improvisation, songs and band projects
- Receptive methods such as music-based relaxation and request concerts
- Talk therapy techniques
2) Music: piano and/or guitar, percussion, voice
3) Practice: two study-integrated internships, work in the campus outpatient clinic, group self-awareness and group supervision
