Agricultural Sciences
Agricultural Sciences are concerned with the production of human and animal food, with economic land use and maintenance playing a major role. Attention is paid to the economic and ecological conditions of the agricultural production process. Agricultural Sciences include Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy Farming, and Viticulture. These are closely related to the Forestry. Issues such as the teaching of plant diseases, species-appropriate animal husbandry, organic plant production, and the environmentally friendly use of artificial fertilisers are also becoming increasingly important. Study programmes in this field of study enable students to perform administrative, technical, and advisory tasks in their future job, whereby the use of electronic control devices for the best possible production is also one of the main focuses in the technical field. Only seldomly do study programmes lead to a practical activity as a farmer.
Students usually have to complete a preliminary internship, which can often be replaced or shortened by previous vocational training.
