Description of the programme
At the interface between sport, business and management, this interdisciplinary distance learning Bachelor's degree programme in Sports Management combines various subject areas that are not covered in this combination in any other related degree programme. Students acquire economic, psychological and sports-specific competences as well as media and social skills that they can adequately apply in practice. They qualify for a variety of tasks in the field of marketing, organisation and planning of sport and develop into sport-competent, entrepreneurial and responsible sports managers who can master the tasks and challenges in the fields of sport and society at national and international level. By dealing with economic concepts in the field of sport and working on practical problems as examples, students on this Bachelor's degree programme learn how to successfully solve complex challenges in sport management. Consultancy and problem-solving topics are also covered, as activities in club and popular sport in particular require special skills that go beyond the usual managerial and business skills, such as taking into account the preservation of tradition and actively shaping the future of sport for young people and clubs.
