Description of the programme
The BA Business Management specializing in bakery management is designed for specialists from the bakery industry, but it can also be studied without any previous training. This parttime study program is directed especially to those who want to qualify themselves academically beside family and profession and who want to obtain a university degree without loss of earnings.
The parttime bachelor’s degree BA Business Management is offered to certified business economists HwO, certified master bakers and confectioners and certified sales managers in the food trade HWK. We are happy to check other professional qualifications and degrees for you.
The program is a co-operation between the HdWM and the vocational schools of the bakery trade in the ADB network:
– One attendance week per year at the bakery academy in Weinheim;
– Accommodation and catering facilities at the bakery academy in Weinheim.
This is the only study program in Germany that focuses on the needs of business successors and bakery managers.
The courses are taught by experienced professors and lecturers from the HdWM. The industry focus is taught by experts from the ADB network and from the business world.

Our study program is designed to efficiently integrate your professional and family commitments by being flexible in terms of time. Certified business economists HwO and certified sales managers in the food trade HWK can have up to 79 ECTS credited, so that only 101 ECTS have to be completed in the program. Similarly, master bakers and confectioners with training at an ADB technical college can have 46 ECTS recognized and only have to complete 134 ECTS in the study program.
The study program is run in co-operation with the Akademie Deutsches Bäckerhandwerk Weinheim within the ADB network, guarantees the highest quality and is specially designed to meet the needs of company successors and bakery managers.
In addition to the subject-specific content, your soft skills will be honed, career planning will be supported by our career network, digital skills will be promoted through contemporary study content, and you will gain insights into topics such as sustainability and corporate responsibility, which have been developed in close co-operation with the ADB network.

Its degree programs are all accredited by the Accreditation Council, FIBAA, or AHPGS, respectively certified by evalag.
