Curriculum
Description of the programme
The Bachelor's study programme Psychology (B.Sc.) at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences provides you with comprehensive psychological basic knowledge, important meta-competences for the working world and practical experience. In addition to basic psychological subjects such as developmental psychology or biological psychology, you will acquire statistical and methodological skills and take part in empirical research projects. You will learn about the many facets of human experience and important factors influencing human behaviour. The study programme enables you to:
to take other perspectives / to recognise complex systemic connections / to analyse psychological patterns of people, groups and organisations / to make solution- and goal-oriented decisions / to critically question your knowledge / to work scientifically.
Why enrolling in this programme?
You will receive a well-founded and comprehensive basic training that is recognised by the Professional Association of German Psychologists (BDP). It qualifies you for versatile and sought-after tasks in the economy - but for legal reasons not for work in psychotherapy.
Do you dream of spending time abroad? Does a stay in New York or Sydney appeal to you? If you opt for the seven-semester Bachelor's programme, a semester abroad is an integral part of your studies. We fully recognise your achievements abroad. Are you drawn to another place? Through Erasmus+ or the Freemover Programme, you have many other opportunities to get to know the world.
Psychologists with a Bachelor's degree take on a variety of tasks in health care and health promotion:
in social and public institutions
in the school and education system
in psychological counselling
in coaching and mediation
in business and personnel consultancies
in market and opinion research.
Alternatively, you can deepen your acquired knowledge in a Master's programme. The Master's study programmes in Psychology (M.Sc.) and Business Psychology (M.Sc.) at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences fit your profile very well.
Semester abroad & internship
The Bachelor's programme in Psychology (B.Sc.) creates a close connection between theoretical and practical knowledge. You can take advantage of guest lectures and interdisciplinary qualification opportunities throughout the entire study programme. From the third semester onwards, you put your theoretical knowledge into practice through empirical research projects. In the sixth semester, you will deepen your practical experience through a work placement. Your final thesis also offers you the opportunity to work empirically.
