Description of the programme
With the Bachelor's degree, you qualify for responsible marketing positions, e.g. in hotels, with tourism groups, tour operators and airlines.
In the degree programme, you will learn in-depth marketing content and specialised knowledge about tourism. In addition, you will acquire management-oriented and business know-how. Topics such as trends and innovations in tourism, international marketing and hotel and quality management are covered in detail. You can also set your own focus through elective modules.
Accreditations & awards
The IST Hochschule für Management is officially accredited as a state-recognised university by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. This guarantees the equivalence of the degrees with degrees from state universities.
The Bachelor's, Master's, and MBA programmes are accredited by the International Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (FIBAA). This means that you achieve an international and state-recognised degree. With the award of credit points according to the European Credit and Accumulation Transfer System (ECTS), your academic achievements are internationally comparable and recognised.
The IST University of Management has been institutionally accredited for five years after a thorough review by the German Science Council. We have thus received further state recognition, which underpins our claim to quality.
For admission, the (Fach)-Hochschulreife or an equivalent school-leaving qualification is required. Alternatively, you can qualify through at least 2 years of vocational training and an IHK advanced training or a master craftsman's certificate, or through at least 2 years of vocational training and at least 3 years of professional experience.
In addition, proof of at least 3 months of internship or corresponding professional experience in tourism must be provided. The proof must be submitted by the beginning of the 3rd semester.
