Description of the programme
The Bachelor's study programme in Social Work (B.A.) teaches you the diverse methods and techniques of social work in varied learning units. You learn to classify social work methods and theories in the socio-political context and to apply them in a needs-oriented manner. All contents of the programme are based on the recommendations of the Federal Association of Social Work and the German Society for Social Work. With the Bachelor's degree in Social Work (B.Sc.), you also acquire the title of "state-recognised social worker" and "state-recognised social pedagogue".
Scientific basics, theories, procedures and methods of social work as well as relevant know-how from related disciplines - these contents are on your curriculum in the Bachelor's study programme Social Work (B.A.). You learn to recognise and analyse social problems and to solve them together with those affected. You deepen your knowledge of the areas of social work. This includes, for example, child and youth welfare, social work with old or disabled people and with people suffering from mental illness. We place just as much emphasis in our teaching on the further development of your personality and the ability to engage in critical debate.
Accreditations & awards
All study programmes at the Hochschule Fresenius Heidelberg are accredited before they start for the first time and then regularly checked for conformity with the regulations.
