Description of the programme

The Digital Media major focuses on three primary objectives: First, it equips you with the ability to critically and theoretically engage with digital media, utilizing insights from media studies, media theory, and media history. Second, you will learn the fundamental principles underlying digital technologies. Third, the program encourages you to explore the creative potentials of digital media through your own projects, thus developing a versatile skill set that prepares you to contribute to future innovations in a critical, informed, and creative manner.

Your coursework is split between the Hamburg Media School in Hamburg and the Leuphana University campus in Lüneburg. The faculty includes many internationally recognized researchers from the Leuphana University’s Centre for Digital Cultures, providing you with the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge amidst pioneering international research.
