Description of the programme
At the beginning of your studies, you acquire the basics of mathematics and natural science in the field of environmental sciences. This provides you with the basis for integrating economic activities into the laws of nature. In the ecology module group, you will deal with life cycle assessments, circular economy, complex systems (aquatic, terrestrial and atmospheric ecosystems as well as the connection between ecosystems and biodiversity), geoecology, toxicology, sustainable energy systems and climate change.
In the field of economics, you will gain insights into economic and environmental policy aspects as well as international environmental law. You learn more about global resources and material flows. You learn about the function of a company and how it is managed. Modules in strategic controlling, risk management and corporate management prepare you for your future tasks; practical management methods round off your profile.
Practical relevance: In the fifth semester, you have to complete a business case study, a task set by a company and solved in groups under the intensive supervision of your lecturers. With your bachelor's thesis in a relevant company or research institute, you apply and deepen the practical experience you have gained here.
