Description of the programme

Varied and interdisciplinary: In the German Bachelor's study programme Game Design & Management (B.A.) at the Hochschule Fresenius, you will acquire the necessary theoretical and practical skills to be able to (co-)design the entire process of game development in the future, from the idea for a game to production and marketing. To do this, you will deal with game concepts, deepen your knowledge of game mechanics, and learn to develop game worlds and game characters. In the management part of your studies, you will acquire the basics of business administration, project management, and marketing. You learn about and apply successful business strategies and deal with the most important methods of good team leadership.

Close to practice: With modules such as Digital Art, Creative Coding, and Level Design, you will refine your artistic and creative skills right from the start in the German Bachelor's study programme Game Design & Management (B.A.). Practical projects and the integrated practical semester (in the case of the seven-semester programme) are optimal opportunities to put your theoretical knowledge into practice. The excursions and lectures at the Hochschule Fresenius give you good insights into your future professional practice.

Project development from A to Z: Are you excited about developing your own game—from the idea to the concept and a production plan to a playable prototype? Then you should opt for the specialisation in Game-based and Interactive Systems.

Accreditations & awards

All study programmes at the Hochschule Fresenius are accredited before they start for the first time and then regularly checked for conformity with the regulations. This ensures that they meet the quality standards of the Accreditation Council Foundation. The accreditation system in Germany provides for higher education institutions to have either individual study programmes (so-called programme accreditation) or the internal quality assurance system of the higher education institution (so-called system accreditation) accredited.
